It feels like Thailand
It feels like Thailand again.
The living room is covered in underwear, perfume and lotions, hangers, a George Forman grill, plastic tubs and luggage. My future is scattered on the floor.
I'm halfway between here and there. I have just moved back from the Twin Cities, after going to the University for four years. And in a few days, I'll be there -- my new home.
Until then, I'm here. The middle. It's the in-between, where I'm not quite sure what comes next.
I found myself in this same place almost three years ago. Then, the destination was Thailand. But the same sensations have returned, excitement and sick-to-my-stomach nervousness.
The unkown is OK. Because eventually I'll find my place in D.C., just as I did in Thailand.
Washington, D.C. -- here I come!
