R*** is a bad word

Rain has become a bad four-letter word.

Last night and during the wee hours, we got more than 7 inches in the district, which translates into flooding and soggy basements. The office was emptier than usual today, one of my co-workers had to rip up carpet in his basement before it grew mold.

Someone asked if I had to swim to work. Today I walked. Tomorrow may be an entirely different story. It's been raining for the last several hours.
