Off the wagon

It started with three strips of sweet-and-sour watermelon delight and a few mini gummy bears. Ben lured me into a gourmet candy store, despite my no-candy rule.

It didn't stop with the watermelon strips and gummy bears. I thought it'd be it. But the candy bowl behind my desk at work was full of goodies with my name on it. And my hand dipped into that bowl every day. Multiple times.

And for the last two months, the I've been off the wagon. I love candy.

That ended today. Because last night when I was at Staples and after my eyes zoomed in on the candy, I said to the clerk, "Just say no."

So the mantra begins.
