Family Matters

By this time on Thursday, I will be back in my Minnesota hometown.

Thinking about seeing my family gives me that sensation I had when I was a kid at Christmas time. It's like when you can't wait to open your presents, and you squirm until Christmas morning. You beg to open just one, but you're forced to wait. In this case, I can't wait for that first hug when I see my mom and sister. And as each day gets closer to Thursday, it gets harder to go to sleep. I'm too excited.

I often feel like this whenever I'm away. It can be a hundred miles or a thousand. No matter the distance, I want to be closer to home, where my family is.
