'Tis the season to be engaged

I come from a high school class of 100. And that was big for my small rural town buried in southwest Minnesota. The classes that have followed are much smaller.

I belong to another class -- the class of engaged couples. If my math is right, 12 of us will get married (two of us to other classmates) in less than a year. A few of us are marrying high school sweethearts, including yours truly. And let's not forget the couples who have gotten hitched before us.

Perhaps we're the class of love. Or maybe there was something in the water the year we were born.

I still haven't put my finger on it.
