Winding down
My time in Washington is coming to an end. My last day at work is three weeks from tomorrow. It's weird to think I've been out here for a year. I never intended to stay this long, but I'm glad I did.
I was able to:
--enjoy the cherry blossoms
--run a long race
--come away with a lot of solid clips and experience
--form good friendships at work
--travel in the president's motorcade
--see a lot of famous and political faces
--travel to NYC almost 20 times
--run around the national Mall
--find a bar with hundreds of different beers and enjoy the taste of Framboise (delicious!)
And while I've been out here, there have been several life changes. I got engaged. I didn't see that coming (at least for another four years based on Ben's five-year plan). The day he proposed has been the best day of my life so far.
This year has been chaotic and dramatic. When I first came out here, I was low and lonely. Now, I'm busy, stressed and ultra excited. I've grown a little but I'm still a little immature.
More reflections to come...
